MDBA SHOW & SALE: RULES & REGULATIONS

SALE

Sellers must be current MDBA Members – Sale animals must be ADCA registered

The past few years have proven to have an increase in no-sale animals with reserves. This causes disappointment for buyers coming to the sale to “buy” animals and increases the likelihood that they will not return.

Auctioneers also encourage selling of your animal without reserve to increase future sales and advertising for your farm. It also fares better for the event and its future as it is not an auction filled with no-sale animals. The MDBA Show & Sale Committee also respectfully requests NOT setting a reserve on your sale animal.

If you choose to set a reserve and you no-sale your animal, a 5% no sale fee will be charged off of the RESERVE price, not the last bid.  In addition – Sale animals without a reserve will sell first.  If the animal sells, the seller pays a 5% commission sale fee on each animal sold as usual.

Bulls are allowed in the sale at a 3:1 ratio (can combine with other member sellers). PHA and Chondro testing is highly recommended for the sale of all bulls. Bulls are required to have a Trich test or virgin bull certificates (see state health requirements or ask your veterinarian for details, as laws are subject to change).

Under Missouri state law, ALL non-virgin bulls or bulls 24 months of age or older that are sold must have a negative Trich test within 30 days of sale. All virgin bulls that are under the age of 24 months in the sale must have a completed virgin bull affidavit.  For complete details, visit: http://mda.mo.gov/animals/health/disease/trich.php.  Any sale bulls purchased and headed to Texas must have a negative Trich test if they are 12 months and over.  Sellers may want to consider testing bulls 12 months and over.  Detail of the Texas law can be found at:

http://www.tahc.state.tx.us/news/brochures/TAHCBrochure_TrichRegulations.pdf.

Health Certificates will be required for all entries and will be checked. All tattoos must match health papers.
Females advertised as “bred” should have a veterinarian’s pregnancy check certificate, or lab test results confirming pregnancy (Biopryn or equivalent).

**ATTENTION**

A no-sale fee of 5% of the set RESERVE will be charged if you no-sale an animal.

Sale animals without a set reserve will be given priority in the sale by being chosen via random drawing order to sell first. Then, animals with a reserve will be picked via random order drawing to sell after.
